7 Main Takeaways:

  1. We must know our enemy.

  2. Satan is a strategist.

  3. Offense in the body of Christ is a strategy that is often used by Satan to cause disunity.

  4. If the church is not united, the world will not know that God who loves them dearly sent His Son to save them.

  5. When Satan launches an attack on one follower of Christ, he is not solely after that individual. His aim is to achieve a mass effect.

  6. The church is ineffective in carrying out the Great Commission when we are not one.

  7. The devil can only tempt us in the places of our lives to which we give him access.

We Must Know Our Enemy

  • We must know what our enemy, the devil, does well.

  • We must know that he seeks to devour us.

We must know that he is:

  • a deceiver, a liar, a thief, a murderer.

  • as a lion, not a lion.

  • an accuser of the brethren.

  • a destroyer.

  • a tempter

  • an opportunist

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV).

We cannot ignore the devil’s existence. If we are not informed about his ways and if we live as if he does not exist, he will get the better of us.

Satan is a strategist. He studies us so that when he attacks, he hits us at the most vulnerable places in our lives. He is patient. He is in no rush to attack. We must know his ways.

Offense in the body of Christ is a strategy that is often used by Satan to cause disunity.

If the church is not united, the world will not know that God loves them dearly and sent His Son to save them.

  • Jesus prayed that we, the church would be one as He and His Father are one., when we are one, the world will know that God sent His Son in the world to save the lost.

  • When we are one, the world will know that God loves them and has sent His Son to save them.

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21 (KJV)

The world knowing that Jesus is their savior depends on the church being one.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:22-23 (KJV)

When Satan launches an attack on one follower of Christ, he is not solely after that individual. His aim is to achieve a mass effect.

Stan knows where he is going, and his plan is to take as many as possible with him.

Satan’s Destiny (Revelation20:1-3):

  • Will be bound and will be cast into a bottomless pit.

  • Will be shut up, and his dominion on the earth will be terminated.

  • His destination is the lake of fire and brimstone, where he will be tormented day and night, for ever and ever.
